ASBESTOS/ LEAD/ MOLD ABATEMENT

The Heat and Frost Insulators Local 5 will train you in the proper procedures in removing and disposing of hazardous materials such as Asbestos, Lead and Mold. Prior to the 1980’s asbestos containing materials were used to insulate mechanical systems. When doing maintenance on mechanical systems manufactured pre 1980’s, asbestos abatement and disposing would need to be performed.
A hazardous material is any item or agent (biological, chemical, radiological, and/or physical), which has the potential to cause harm to humans, animals, or the environment, either by itself or through interaction with other factors.


