The Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers are the Mechanical Insulation Specialists. We are one of two Mechanical Insulation Unions and Apprenticeship Training School in California. We train apprentices in all aspects of the Mechanical Insulation trade. Local 5 operates in Southern California and Local 16 in Northern California.
Importance of Insulation: Insulation reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Insulation increase manufacturing productivity, reduce corrosion under insulation, control condensation and mold growth and provides an unrivaled return on investment. When mechanical system are well insulated, heating and cooling system run for shorter periods of time thus reducing emissions.
